Training Overview The Grant Training seminar will provide an overview of the basic grant components including constructing good problem statements, effective program descriptions, capacity, sustainability, and budgeting. In addition, the workshop will look at identifying grant sources, analyzing program objectives, and basics of good proposal writing. Key information that will be useful in preparing a competitive grant application under federal and state grants available to professionals will also be presented and discussed. The workshop will provide crucial information about drafting a findable project and convey explicit expectations regarding the quality of grant applications. Participants will learn how to research potential funding sources using the Internet and a variety of other sources. Workshop attendees will also receive the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services' publication, Grant Writing: Identifying and Applying for Funding in a Competitive Market.
